Audio Visual (American Audio Visual)

• Paperless sales and inventory software system
• Energy efficient LED lighting fixtures available for events
• Electric golf cart to transport equipment on-site
• Flipchart pads are made from 70% Post Consumer Recycled Material

Banquets

• All light panels in Conference Center and Meeting Rooms are programmed with 4 permanent settings allowing users to select the most efficient setting based on the event.
• Air conditioning is maintained by the status of room (shuts off when room is not in use)
• Use residential style banquet tables for buffets and coffee breaks to reduce laundering of linen
• Use water stations with glasses opposed to plastic bottle and plastic cup waste
• Helping to provide "Green meeting space" by relocating paper products to meeting room credenzas to help reduce paper waste

Culinary

• Utilizes Six Sigma Green Belt methodology in measuring and reducing energy

Engineering/Landscape

• Electronic thermostats in guestrooms with pre-set settings to minimize energy consumption
• Energy Management System to control all mechanical, HVAC, chiller and boiler systems and pumping station for water features to maximize efficiency
• Reduced number of heated pools available during winter/low use season
• Installed energy conserving flat plate system for chillers
• All landscaping around property is native to the area and in keeping with the natural environment thus requiring less water to maintain, all watering is on a timed drip system

Front Office/Front Drive

• Practice double sided printing when possible and practical
• Utilize e-mail scanning instead of faxing
• Use a "Green" Xerox machine
• Reusable luggage tags that are marked with a dry erase pen for delivery

Guest Services

• Hybrid property vehicle used for guest transport

Human Resources

• Reuse scrap paper and double side print when possible
• Utilize e-mail instead of direct mail when possible
• Scan and e-mail instead of fax
• Reduced handbook size
• Quarterly newsletters versus monthly newsletters to save paper

Housekeeping

• Green Seal approved chemicals used in cleaning
• Bed linens changed and towels replaced upon request
• Plastic cups in guest rooms are made from corn
• Use blue bags for recycling plastic and aluminum
• Use red bags for stained linen (saves water and chemicals)
• Old terry items used to make cleaning rags for room attendants
• Make a Green Choice program allows guests to decline housekeeping service and receive a $5 gift card for Ko'Sin Restaurant, Lobby Bar or exchange for 500 SPG points

Purchasing

• Reuse of packing material (styro) and gel packs
• Practice double sided printing when possible
• Pallets are picked up for reuse or repair instead of dumping

Restaurant Outlets

• Follow energy conservation practices when business levels are low or restaurants are closed - gas, lights, computers are turned off
• Use large capacity milk dispenser to reduce plastic carton usage
• Lights are monitored throughout the day
• "Bring Your Own Cup" incentive for associates at Vasip Coffee Shop (employees who bring their own coffee cup will receive a discount)

Sales/Catering

• Reuse scrap paper and double side print when possible
• Utilize e-mail instead of direct mail when possible

• Utilize products derived from recycled materials

Stewarding
