Our therapists are the foundation of Aji Spa's luxury and we believe in letting the experts do the talking. This section is their platform to share their pearls of treatment-room wisdom. This month, our submission comes from Massage Therapist, Kumiko Niimi:
Gila River Hot Rock Massage
My favorite treatment to give or receive, especially during the winter season, is the Gila River Rock Massage. We use heated basalt lava stones and place them strategically along the spine. The warmth of the stones is deeply relaxing. What makes our rock massage unique is that we massage with both stones and our hands using our signature Shegoi Oil. The heat of the stones penetrates the muscle seven times deeper than a regular massage, making it a perfect treatment for anyone with a larger muscle mass or a guest seeking deep tissue work. The heat literally melts the tension away and 80-minutes is the ideal amount of time to truly enter full relaxation. Our guests are also invited to select a special stone that has been blessed by our Healer, Belen Stoneman, to take a meaningful part of Aji with them when they go.
The Gila River Rock Massage is available Monday - Thursday for $205 and Friday - Sunday for $215.
Exclusive offer for the month of January only. Receive $10 off the Gila River Rock Massage from January 1-31, 2012. Call to reserve your treatment today.

Baby It's Cold Outside
If you have not already done so, it is definitely time to put in order the "frost protection plan" for your plants. We have already experienced sub-freezing temperatures at night and some of your plants may have already suffered the consequence. Bougainvilleas and lantanas are two such examples that tend to be adversely affected by the cool nights.
We can expect more chilly weather as we come into January and just a few simple steps could prevent you from having to replant in the spring. Spare towels or sheets are a great and affordable way to protect your plants during these winter nights.
Or another fresh and seasonal idea is to put those Christmas lights to a new use. Instead of taking them down and putting them away, keep them on your most tender plants. When the nights get cold, bring back the holiday spirit by plugging in the festive Christmas light "blanket."

At Aji we are a family and we have much to celebrate this special season.
We have enjoyed a wave of recent graduations and we are so proud of our colleagues. Joy is best when shared, so indulge us if you will, and learn a bit more about your friends at Aji.
Allow us to introduce you to Jose Pastrana. An essential team-member, Jose joined Aji 3 years ago. He is thriving in his current role as a front desk agent where he helps usher guests through the culture and entire Aji journey.
Jose just graduated from ASU with his degree in Business Administration with a certificate in International Business. He aspires to move into a supervisor role and eventually own his own Customs House (import/export company).
Join us in congratulating Jose, the next time you are in to enjoy a day with us at Aji!
